So I don't particularly want to MT for raids, but I do enjoy tanking for flashpoints/heroics/and off tanking during a raid. I also will be pvping a great deal, so wanted to keep respecs to a minimum. This is the direction I'm taking. Currently finished going up the Balance line of it (jeebus the difference FiB makes for taking on groups of mobs...) and working up Kinetic now.

I've been tooling with the editor for a bit, and I freed up a skill that doesn't have much benefit in my chain. Most of my attacks are DD now as opposed to DoT stacking. This also gives me a great utility for tanking/pvp:

I like where you are going Ravaa.  However, I like the infiltration build.... specifically the 2/31/8 build which is what I am running(well not quite still need 5 points but you get the jest of it).  Ill post what im talking about. My Burst dps is crazy! I am taking down stuff with ease.  Although you have more survivability (which is nice) I like the raw power I can generate.  hehehe will be fun to see once I hit 50 sir!

I've gone the traditional 31/0/10 build:

I really enjoy the FiB build I had prior to this for pvp (FiB = win for stopping caps), but for overall usefulness in an op, you can't beat slow time + combat technique's FB giving you a nasty 5% debuff to dmg and a 5% debuff to crit chance. Their's threat generation issue when not in a MT role, but dumping aggro via stealth works well for it.

Last night I respecced into the balance tree to provide heavy, sustained (and ranged!) dot based dps.

Without kinetic ward there's next to no tankability in this spec, though the self healing from the dots and force in balance help me be more sturdy double strike/shadow strike spamming.

The other build I'm considering is:

Which is more of a hybrid build giving me kinetic ward, PA, and tankability good enough for flashpoint and ops trash with added survivability from dot healing. Main detriment is the loss of dps from no sever force.  I'm currently specced for full on balance dps for tonight's encounter and look forward to its performance. Thoughts and critiques welcome.

can you drop the point in Mind Over Matter or particle acceleration in order to get Sever Force? How will that affect off tanking?

PA is for added hate and keeps the dps high while dots are ticking away, but could be dropped for SF
The beauty of MoM is the last line, 2 more seconds of resilience (100% immunity to tech and force abilities. Also purges any Tech/Force debuffs/dots from me).

With Sharpen Mind though, my force generation becomes fairly high so I can toss Projects like you wouldn't believe with PA, each of which crits for 1.6k and upwards of 2.1k when Upheavel procs. With Force Suppresion I'd expect Project to hit up to 2.4-5k.

That, and i'd need to free up 3 points to get SF. Which would mean dropping Kinetic Ward as well, which removes any tankability honestly.
